Jodie Preiss Marketing & Communications Officer
Jodie loves working in schools, and is passionate about sharing the stories that happen within an educational environment. After beginning her working life in the travel industry, in New York, Jodie moved into schools marketing in 2007 and each time she has left, has been drawn back to the energy and vibrancy of working in a place where love of learning is key.
Natalie Keating Executive Assistant & First Aid Officer
Natalie has managed to combine her passions for health & wellbeing, education and management into the perfect roles here at North- Eastern. With broad experience across all three passions Natalie loves that she regular experiences something of all three in a single day! Not only is she an integral part of the Administration Team, but Natalie is also a parent in our community, with her two children recently starting here.
Robyn Hodges Reception
Robyn is one of the first people you may speak with when you call us here at North-Eastern, and her delight in being part of this school community is evident. Her work life has been varied - from QANTAS to non-profits such as Eastern Health and Melbourne Mission - and she brings all that experience across many disciplines to her role here.

Faith Pereira Toddler Community Assistant
Faith is a dedicated Montessori educator, working in the Montessori philosophy since 1983! Her inspiration and motivation is the children she has had the immense pleasure of guiding and working with during this time. She is passionate about her calling as a Montessori educator, and incorporates her love of singing, drama and cooking into her daily interactions with our youngest students.

Shelly Raj
Shelly Raj Cycle 1 Teacher & 3-6 Program Co-ordinator
Shelly has been teaching here at North-Eastern for more than 10 years, and is not only a proud staff member, but also a passionate parent at the School. She believes we are all life-long learners and should always strive for high personal standards. She loves to engage in new learning experiences to stay inspired and in tune with the contemporary needs of our children. Shelly is committed to ensuring her classroom feels like a community, where all children an their families feel valued, appreciated, accepted and respected.
Amy Clyne
Amy Clyne Cycle 1 Teacher
Amy has been a member of the team here at North-Eastern since 2017, having first taught in a Montessori classroom in Spain a few years prior. She believes that Montessori is more than a job, but is a philosophy to live by which has helped her immensely to understand the values of practice, patience and compassion.
Taia Ly Cycle 1 Teacher
Taia believes she was a Montessori teacher before she became a Montessori teacher. The universal needs of humans and the spontaneous spirit of the child has always intrigued her. Taia's collective experience in study, international travel, work across different fields and hobbies of various creative disciplines has enabled her to be a well-rounded person who can offer a worldly classroom to the bright-eyed child.
Shi Hui Toi Cycle 1 Teacher
Shi Hui started her journey as a passionate educator in 2010, when she received her Montessori Diploma, before continuing her study with a Bachelor of Education. She joined the team here in 2020, and loves to share her cultural perspectives with the children.

Sue developed a passion for Montessori when her children attended a Montessori pre-school in NZ. Her family moved to Australia in 2000, and she has been a parent or educator here ever since. In her role as an educator, Sue loves providing children opportunities to explore our natural world and help them to gain an understanding of how they can help to protect the environment.

Katrine Craft
Katrine Craft Cycle 3 Teacher & 6-12 Program Co-ordinator
Katrine developed a passion for working with primary aged children when she developed the educational program for a small zoo in Denmark, having previously studied Biological Sciences. Upon her return to Australia she returned to study education and Montessori, and loved learning about the Montessori approach. Katrine believes that her role as an educator is to gain a deep understanding of each student in her care, and to guide them through the curriculum at a pace that suits them.
Janette Reimerink Cycle 2 Teacher
Janette has been an educator for 41 years in various areas and settings, including having taught dance for 20 years across Australia and also in Italy. She has always been interested in the mind/body connection, and is always looking for ways to connect the two in her teaching. Janette is a life-long learner and continues to challenge her own thinking and improve her ability to provide her students with the best in education.
Sandra Starvaggi Cycle 2 Teacher
Sandra first joined our School community as Music Director and Italian specialist, which inspired her to train at the historical AMI Centre of International Montessori Studies in Italy. Her goal each day is to comprehend the unique child and to assist them to reach their whole potential, and to invite each child to reflect our onto the world with curiosity, respect and gratitude.
Allison McKenzie Cycle 3 Teacher
Allison joined the team at North-Eastern in 2021, bringing with her more than 20 years experience as a Primary Teacher, Secondary Wellbeing Co-ordinator and Science Co-ordinator. With qualifications in Science, Psychology and teacher, Allison is a great example of a life long learner, who is passionate about positive education, wellbeing, science, meditation, tennis and dancing! She loves facilitating student learning and watching those 'aha' moments when a student grasps a new concept.

Nic Lindsay
Nicholas Lindsay Physical Education Teacher
Nicholas has been teaching PE across a number of schools for the past five years. He has a great passion for physical exercise and seeks to create a programme that exposes students to a range of sports, movement and recreational physical activities. His goal is to enable his students to find a love of exercise that will lead to a lifelong love with movement.
Sarah Papadopoulos Physical Education Teacher
Sarah has been the PE specialist here at North-Eastern since 2013, and loves providing our students with the opportunities to experience new sports and physical activities. She is passionate about providing her students with the opportunity to develop, build on and extend their knowledge of sport, physical activity and healthy habits.
Joanna Lui Mandarin Teacher
Joanna is passionate about teaching Mandarin in the context of its culture and history and place an emphasis on the student discovering knowledge for themselves. Joanna's experience in teaching the IB PYP as well as her understanding of the Montessori philosophy has also given her skills to engage her students through a range of media and guide them to become inquirers of the Chinese language and culture.
Christopher Yoos Art Teacher
Chris is new to the North-Eastern team, joining us at the beginning of 2021. He has been teaching for ten years, and loves teaching art because he is able to share his passion for the arts and the creative process. He loves to see that passion develop and shine in his students. When he is not exhibiting his own work in Melbourne and the US, Chris can be found outdoors on his bike, surfboard or hiking in the bush.
Carmen Chan Percussion & Piano
Carmen's relationship with music began at a very young age - learning keyboard from age 3, piano at 5. She then begged to pick up the cello when she was 11 and percussion at 16. A student of the Conservatorium of Music at the University of Melbourne, Carmen then studied in Sweden. She loves to observe that moment when a student "gets it" and can see the potential of what they can achieve.

OSHC & Learning Support

Jasnarinder Kaur Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Co-ordinator
Jasnarinder joined North-Eastern in 2021, having worked in OSHC for more than 4 years following her Early Childhood study. She loves being around children, and her goal is to bring a smile to their faces whenever she sees them. As well as loving working with children, Jasnarinder is also passionate about the environment, and reuses every single piece of paper that comes her way.
Shona Williamson Head of Student Services
Shona is a passionate and resourceful counsellor and educator with experience teaching and supporting students across preschool, primary and secondary schools. Her special interest is in student wellbeing and learning differences, and she encourages our students to acknowledge and celebrate neurodiversity within our school. Shona believes that when kids are; well-connected, supported and develop greater self-awareness, curiosity and learning follow naturally.
