Ruwani

Early Learning Assistant

Ruwani is a dedicated early childhood educator with over 20 years of experience supporting children’s individual growth and development guided by Montessori philosophy.

Her Montessori journey began in Sri Lanka in 2002 and she has since led and worked in a variety of Montessori and play-based early childhood programs across Australia and Sri Lanka. A member of the North-Eastern Montessori team since 2022, Ruwani holds an Association Montessori Internationale Diploma in Montessori Education and Child Psychology (2.5–6 years), as well as a Diploma of Children’s Services and applies her deep understanding of Montessori principles to create an environment that nurtures each child’s unique development.

Intrigued by childhood language acquisition, Sophia was drawn to early childhood education after observing 4–6-year-old students as part of a university research project completed as part of a Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies majoring in Language and Linguistics.
